BIG BOOK NEWS!!

I've never been more excited about illustrating a book, than the one I'm working on now! Sleeping Bear Press has asked me to work on a project for them that will have more illustrations in it than any book I have illustrated before. This book is promising to be full of color and amazing wildlife!
It will be published sometime in 2009.....That's RIGHT around the corner....so I'd better get back to the studio!!

I always try to set aside some of my time to visit schools, bookstores and libraries, with an informative slide show and book signing.   If you are interested in having me visit your school or organization, please see "ARTIST'S VISITS" below.

AT THE EASEL!
Although I am very busy right now working on the illustrations for a new book which will come out in 2009, I still have time to squeeze in an occasional commissioned piece. If you have any inquiries, please e-mail me .
I'd be happy to accomodate you if I can.

ARTIST'S VISITS
I ave prepared a slide show and lecture that is suitable for children and adults.  The presentation is approximatelyone hour long including a question and answer session. It focuses on the importah
nce of following your dreams, how I became an illustrator, and the entire process
of illustrating a book.  I can followthis presentation with a book signing if requested.  My honorarium for school visits and conferences is $450 a day for presentations within the San Francisco Bay Area and $850 a day for  presentations outside the San Francisco Bay Area (Plus travel expenses).  I am able to give two presentations a day for any number of people.  Please e-mail me with inquiries.
MY DREAM COME TRUE
Ever since I was very young I admired the amazing talents of the artists who painted billboards high above the ground. In those days, most the the billboards were painted by hand and my wish was to some day paint one myself. Today most billboards are pre-printed and simply applied to the surface, but I was delighted when the East Bay Municipal Utility District (East Bay MUD) commissioned me to paint the fawn above for their water conservation billboard. Their theme was "Water....save it for what you love." It was exhibited on Hwy 580 on the right side after coming off the Bay Bridge heading East. Another board was on Hwy 880 across from the Oakland Coliseum .
